Master the Habits of Our Everyday Lives with Gretchen Rubin

From today until March 17th, every time you sign up for a coach we’re bundling a copy of Better Than Before: Master the Habits of Our Everyday Lives by Gretchen Rubin.

This is the best book on habit mastery that I’ve ever read.

Sign up for a coach with the promo code BETTERHABITS and then we will ship you a copy of the book on launch day, March 17th (I read a pre-release copy).

On top of that, I interviewed Gretchen about what she learned while writing the book and I’d also like to share that interview with you. You’ll get the book and the interview on March 17th.

There’s a big reason I’m such a fan–Gretchen does a great job of providing frameworks for understanding yourself.

The dirty secret of the behavior change world (i.e. everyone ranging from Coach.me to Crossfit to AA) is that the success rates for interventions are often very low.

And the reason is that there isn’t a one-size fits all approach to achieving your goals. We’re all different and we all need to adopt different strategies.

Gretchen’s book helps you understand what strategies will work for you (and avoid strategies that work for other people, but will just be a waste of your time).

Below, I’ve outlined the steps for using Gretchen’s research to work with our coaches. She’s provided a simple quiz to help you determine your habit tendencies. Based on your tendencies, we can match you up with a coach for that specific tendency.

We’re like eHarmony for coaches all of a sudden (thanks to Gretchen). Here’s what to do.

Step 1.

Take this personality quiz to determine if you are an Upholder, Obliger, Questioner or Rebel. I’m a Questioner. If you refuse to take the quiz, then you’re a Rebel.

  • Upholders respond readily to outer and inner expectations.
  • Questioners question all expectations; they’ll meet an expectation only if they think it makes sense.
  • Rebels resist all expectations.
  • Obligers meet outer expectations, but struggle to meet expectations they impose on themselves.

Step 2.

Search our coaches for Obliger, Upholder, Questioner or Rebel. These are coaches that are specifically matched to your personality.

Step 3.

Sign up for a coach with the promo code BETTERHABITS. I will follow up with you to get your address so that I can mail you a copy of the book and share the interview with you.

Go to it!

Tony

P.S. If any coaches are reading this–you can take the quiz as well and then add the hashtag #Questioner, #Rebel, #Upholder, #Obliger to your coaching profile.
